Jersey Environment Awards - Categories

Awards will be made within four categories:

Environmentalist of the Year (Gerard Le Claire Trophy)

Awarded to the individual who, in the opinion of the Trustees, has, during the past year, through personal commitment and application made the most outstanding contribution to the protection or enhancement of Jersey's environment.

Environmental Business Award

Awarded to the business organisation that, in the opinion of the Trustees, has, during the past year, demonstrated the greatest commitment to environmental best practice.  Particular focus will be given to environmental strategy embedded into the company's business practices.

Environmental Non-Profit Organisation Award

Awarded to the public, voluntary or other non-profit making organisation that in the opinion of the Trustees has, during the past year, demonstrated the greatest commitment to achieving high environmental standards.

Young Environmentalist Award

Awarded to the individual (under 21 years of age) who, in the opinion of the Trustees, has during the past year demonstrated the greatest passion and enthusiasm for Jersey's environment.

Entrants for the Scheme must submit a written application in the format prescribed by the Trust. The closing date for submissions is 31st October 2005.
